Why We Exist
We built HardenLabs because security software should be as well-crafted as the systems it protects
Most security software tends to be built the same way as everything else: features stacked to win comparisons on paper, privacy treated as a checkbox, architecture shaped around marketing instead of real threat models.
We started HardenLabs to prove that security products can set the standard for software quality instead of lowering it. Every feature we don't add is a surface we don't have to defend, and that's a security decision, not a product limitation.
We're a small, opinionated team. We build products we'd want to use ourselves. We started with API security because that's where we saw the biggest gap between what exists and what should exist. As a lab, we go where the problems are interesting and the solutions are worth building. Security infrastructure today, and wherever the next hard problem takes us.

Do It Right
The correct fix is always better than the quick fix. We take on the harder problem now so we don't create three harder problems later.
Respect Privacy
We architect systems so we can't access data we shouldn't have. Not through policy. Through design. If we don't need it, we don't collect it.
Sweat the Details
Good software is made of a thousand small decisions, each made carefully. Error messages, defaults, edge cases. The details are the product.
Build to Last
We're not optimizing for the next funding round. We build software we plan to maintain for years. Boring technology, thorough tests, no shortcuts.

HardenLabs is based in the United States and led by Kelly Fisher, Founder & Principal, a software engineer with decades of experience building production systems across cloud infrastructure, security, and API platforms.
